Educational Programs
Officer Training
Throughout the year, Greek Life hosts several training sessions for chapter officers. These trainings help student leaders understand relevant policies and network with other students in similar positions. The Greek Life officer training includes training for:
- New Member Educators
- Risk Managers and Social Chairs
- Academic Chairs
Each chapter officer must attend specific Greek Life officer training to be in good standing with the office.
New member education programs
Each Greek Council hosts educational programs to support the development of its new members.
Interfraternity Council
The Auburn Interfraternity Council hosts a program called Auburn Man that new fraternity members must attend. This five-week program features speakers and opportunities to help students fully understand the expectations of the IFC community and gives them tools to be successful members.
National Pan-Hellenic Council
NPHC hosts a yearly member training program designed to help members of the NPHC community get a jump start on their leadership development while networking with peers. The training provides a variety of educational sessions and workshops led by the Executive Board, staff, alumni, and a keynote speaker.
Panhellenic Council
Panhellenic holds two New Member Convocations. One program is focused on personal safety and vigilance education. The second program is focused on alcohol education and awareness. Both programs aim to increase students' knowledge regarding health, wellness, and safety and complement each sorority's new member education program.
New Member Forms
Greek Life requires each new member to complete a Grade Release Form and a Hazing Law and Policy Acknowledgment Form. Both acknowledgements are part of the same new member form.
Grade Release Form
The grade release form ensures the new member agrees and understands that the chapter may review their grades as a part of their membership requirements.
Hazing Law and Policy Acknowledgment Form
This form ensures the new member is aware of the laws and policies regarding hazing at a local, national, and state level. It reviews Auburn University policy and reviews how to make a report.
